King James Version, with Nii Okai's journal notes ยท 10 notes
1And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
Elias we know was transported to heaven, but Moses...
He died ๐, or did he? His body also was not found, and we know that the devil ๐ฟ contended for his body.
Was it that he wanted it for necromancy and other witchcraft purposes?
So now what was Moses doing here? Was he not supposed to be in Abraham's bosom?
4Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
To them it was a vision, but in our modern context that was a 3D hologram.
In my previous comment I described this as a 3D hologram, but that is debatable.
If Moses and Elias physically came to the mount, then that was no hologram.
If it was that images and pictures were given them, then we can talk of a hologram, like when Peter saw a great sheet coming down with all manner of animals in it.
That might have been a hologram. These are just conjectures anyways.
Why were they not to tell the vision to anyone?
Not even to the other disciples?
Maybe because this vision
1. Clearly demonstrated that he was the Christ, the Son of God. This was the sign that the Pharisees were asking for.
But they were not worthy of such a sign, having already attributed the many signs and wonders to the work of demon spirits.
Here we have direct attestation from God that Jesus was his Son.
2. He demonstrated that he was not just man, but he was a divine being.
Remember when he calmed the storms, they asked what manner of man he was?
And now he shows what manner of man he was: he was not just a man, the son of Joseph, but he was divine, the Son of God, and radiated forth divine power such as is seen in divine beings.
These things Jesus wanted hid until after his death on the cross. Else they will not let him die on the cross.
No, not the king and salvation that the Jews have long awaited for.
After his death he would have fulfilled the reason for his coming and be crowned king awaiting his kingdom, so his subjects can now be in the know of such things concerning him, as his radiance on the mountain etc.
Things worthy of a king.
At this point he was to be a lamb, without honor.
Such mysteries were therefore the preserve of those who could keep secrets and were close to the king.
10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
So the disciples had this nagging question ๐ at the back of their minds the whole time.
They knew Jesus was the Christ, but also knew that the scribes had said Elijah was to come first.
And he did come, but hid from them.
Just like Jesus the Christ came not as a king but as the son of Joseph, a poor carpenter.
So also John came, the son of Zechariah, yet carried the spirit of Elijah.
In all these, the leaders and people knew them not.
But at the second coming, Elijah would come again as the witness before the second coming of Jesus Christ.
12But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
The disciples walk with Jesus, what did they really want?
He told them many times that he would die, but they understood it not.
So in their minds, how was all this going to end?
With Jesus crowned king ๐ in their presence and they hopefully reigning with him in his kingdom?
To think that in the end they will reign with him in this world was right, but the road to the throne they least expected.
That it would include crucifixion? Not not.
14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
This casting of demons and the like, i.e. healings.
Where did Jesus learn them from? From the Holy Ghost ๐ป, obviously.
Because he did and understood things in ways that no man did.
It must have come from the Holy Ghost.
19Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
This kind: some say the "this kind" refers to unbelief... not to the kind of demon.
I believe it's in reference to the kind of demon ๐น. However, either way the result is the same.
Whether fasting to cure the unbelief so you can cast out this demon, or fasting to receive grace ๐ช to cast out this specific demon.
However, the wording leans more towards ๐ผ casting out the demon through fasting.
Because I have not come across any other scripture talking about unbelief as something to be "casted out".
22And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
23And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
The number of times he said this, and yet they did not or could not believe it till it all happened.
24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
Oh my Lord and my Saviour.
I love Jesus. He lived in a dichotomy. He was a servant, yet king ๐.
More like he was king ๐ but had to live a life of a servant, yet could exercise such kingly dominion of the earth, thus at times betraying his humanness.
Here he, the king ๐, was being asked if he paid tribute. ๐๐๐๐... I can imagine Jesus just smiling โบ at the ignorance ๐คทโโ๏ธ of these tribute collectors.
This whole world ๐บ is in darkness and such a mystery. Mingled with anomalies.
There are kings living ๐ as slaves, yet exercising such kingly dominion at times that it blows their slave cover.
There are also kings by birth who fear ๐ฑ servants and demons, meanwhiles these are their subjects. I'm making reference here to baby ๐คฑ Christians.
There is so much lies and deceptions ongoing in the earth ๐.
And it's about time the true sons rise to take their place and help their brethren do the same.
