Read John 2 in the app

1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

NII OKAI · John 2:46 October 2022

Wait oo... What hour was ⏳ he talking about? He had been baptized in the Holy Ghost 👻 already in Jordan.

I'm missing something here.

5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

NII OKAI · John 2:56 October 2022

How did Mary know this?

Doesn't this debunk the theory that Jesus never performed a single miracle till he was baptized and started his public ministry?

This statement, it indicates Mary knew that he would likely give some senseless instruction, as the case is with most supernatural instruction.

If you are not of faith you won't even bother doing it.

She prepped them up for it.

6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

NII OKAI · John 2:89 May 2023

So at which point did the water turn to wine 🍷?

I suspect not when they filled the pots, not when they fetched from the pots, but when they bore the water and en route to the governor.

That is when the miracle took place.

There is always that faith element, that additional impulse and action that does not make sense.
It is at that point the Lord always shows up.

Like the blind men, cripples and lepers — he would often ask, do you believe I am able to do this?

The moment they affirm, bam 🤯 the miracle would take place.

For the 10 lepers, when they were on their way, then the miracle took place.

9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: ( but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

12After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

NII OKAI · John 2:126 October 2022

John does not give us the many happenings in Capernaum, but the other gospels do.

NII OKAI · John 2:129 May 2023

So in this account by John, at which point did Jesus fast the forty days and nights of the other accounts?

And we see John give a chronological order of events from day one to day three after baptism.

So when did Jesus go fasting?

13And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;

16And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.

17And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

18Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

19Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

NII OKAI · John 2:1914 December 2021

What was the point of this parable... Jesus hid the meaning of what he actually wanted to say in this parable, and of course they misunderstood him...

He did not bother correcting their error or clarifying his statement.

It thus means that Jesus hid the things of the kingdom in plain sight.

The question then is WHY. Was it a case of not casting your pearls before swine 🐽... Because these people either ways will not listen 👂 to him.

Raising the dead and all these miracles did not change them.

NII OKAI · John 2:196 October 2022

These parables of Jesus. He publicly told them exactly what would happen to him, but it was hidden in a mystery.

A mystery only his disciples would later understand, and this strengthened their faith more.

He that hath will more be given.

NII OKAI · John 2:199 May 2023

Jesus knew from the very beginning what was going to happen to him and what he was going to do about it.

There was no one like Jesus.

Who was lord over every situation from start to finish 🏁.

He indeed is the author and finisher 🏁 of our faith.

Not even John the Baptist could be steadfast in faith, for at a point he was offended and questioned the Christ.

Same with Elijah, who gave up at a point in his ministry, of whose power and spirit John was.

There was none like Jesus.

20Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21But he spake of the temple of his body.

NII OKAI · John 2:2128 January 2025

Is this where Paul got the thought of our bodies being the temple of God?

But the book of Corinthians was written before John; however, the oral tradition was definitely in circulation before any writings were even done.

22When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
