1And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

NII OKAI · Genesis 11:24 January 2022

Journeyed from which east, was it in rebellion to God, moving away from the garden of Eden around which the world before hung on in hope of returning to God?

Now the lord had said to Abraham...., when did the lord say unto him? Let me check other versions.. I'll be back.

I'm back and several versions maintained the "had said" and some just used "said".

Either way we are not told when God said to him.

However we see earlier that Abraham's father had set off to go to the land of Canaan. Some say he had the calling first but did not fulfill it hence it was transferred to Abraham. It's an inference from

What happened to Eden after the flood or during the flood?

A thought just came to mind, if Eden was on earth 🌎 and the tree of knowledge of good and evil 😈 and the tree 🎄 of life were natural trees.

Then the nutrients of the tree of life are natural in origin.

Then given the right information one can constitute the nutrients of the tree to give one eternal life.

But alas, what nutrient it is in the tree of life remains a mystery or maybe that nutrient of the tree of life can only be found in that tree and in none else.

Or its constituents could be in other trees in different measures. But who can know these things?

Anyway this is just conjecture...

Back to the garden, so was the garden destroyed in the flood and the angels thus relieved 😌 of their duty of preventing man from accessing the tree 🎄?

Or God hid and protected it from the flood?

Who knows these things?

What do you think 🤔 I hear the spirit asking me?

I think 🤔 God preserved the garden from the flood.

A flood of several months can kill animals, but what about seeds 🌱, leaves and bark of trees?

The tree of life, if I'm right, has its leaves for the healing of the nations.

I'm sure its bark could also do something. I don't think God would risk flooding the garden and the seeds and parts of this tree scattered in the earth 🌎 and found by man accidentally.

And now suddenly we have men that do not die?

And now I can imagine the carnage and destruction left behind after the flood waters receded.

A sad case for man.

Yet another thought, I think 🤔 the animals followed Adam out of the garden 🌿, how else was Abel a shepherd?

Unless we mean to say God created again animals for man - which, seeing that God had finished the work of creation, would mean creating again when there were living animals in the garden.

As these thoughts come to me I'm beginning to understand why many of the books of the Bible move from one subject matter to the next in a single flow of thought or paragraph without separation into books 📚.

Indeed early writing had no paragraphs. It was just one continuous writing and it required the wisdom of man to separate them into the different topics and thoughts.

3And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

NII OKAI · Genesis 11:63 January 2026

So the concept of multiple languages did exist but the lord did not use it till this moment.

I am sure that concept did not even exist in the minds of the people because no such thing existed.

but it did in the mind of God and he used it when he had to.

Only God knows what other tools there are in the mind of God that man knows nothing about nor can even fathom it until God introduces it to the scene.

7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

8So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

10These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

11And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

12And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

13And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

14And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

15And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

16And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

17And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

18And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

19And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

20And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:

21And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

22And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

23And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

24And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

25And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

26And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

27Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

28And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

NII OKAI · Genesis 11:286 January 2024

This may explain the soft spot Abraham had for his nephew Lot.

His father Haran died leaving them to take care of his son Lot.

29And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

30But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

31And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

NII OKAI · Genesis 11:316 January 2024

Did Terah leave Nahor behind?

32And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
